New Product Brief: Maxim’s MAX17242 and MAX17243 step-down DC-DC converters.

This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

Maxim’s MAX17242 and MAX17243 Step-Down DC-DC Converters

Maxim’s MAX17242 and MAX17243 step-down DC-DC converters aim to be flexible, efficient, and simple to implement. The devices can output up to 2 A and 3 A respectively and are available with a 1-to-10 V variable or fixed output voltage.

No Schottky-synchronous operation, integrated MOSFETs, and an all-ceramic capacitor solution reduce component cost and solution size to lower total design cost.

The MAX17240 series devices operate from a wide input of 3.5 V to 36 V with transient protection to 42 V, can be used in PWM or PFM operation with an adjustable frequency from 220 kHz to 2.2 MHz, giving designers the opportunity to optimize the same part to different applications. The MAX17242 and MAX17243 are designed for distributed supply and point-of-load architectures as well as wall transformer regulation.
