Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Cards(eUICC) have since replaced traditional SIM cards used in the mobile industry. eUICCs can be integrated into anything from mobile devices to car telematics units, machine-to-machine (M2M) devices (e.g., industrial sensors), and consumer devices. Vendors use eUICCs to optimize their hardware design, resulting in smaller devices, thanks to the smaller form factor for replacing the SIM card slot with a small chip. The Groupe Spécial Mobile Association (GSMA) provides standard specifications for eUICC cards to enable remote provisioning and management of M2M connections.

This application note by Rohde & Schwarz describes the eUICC compliance and remote eUICC provisioning test solution based on the R&S® CMW wideband radio communication tester and COMPRION® eUICC Profile Manager (ePM) software tool for verifying remote provision and profile management of the eUICC under the M2M architecture specified by GSMA.
